My name is Katie and I am a writer, mom, outdoor enthusiast, and more. I live in beautiful Salida, Colorado and have been writing for over twenty years. 

I spent over fifteen years as a professional rock climber, starting when I was 15 years old, and I have authored three books on the subject.

I have also written for publications such as Climbing, Rock and Ice, Outside, The Daily Camera, Patagonia, prAna, The American Alpine Journal, Gripped, and more.

I love writing that tells a story and evokes a feeling — writing that pulls a reader in and puts them in the moment. I am available for content and copywriting, editorial writing, ghost writing, and more.
